What is shadowing?

Shadowing is a language-learning technique in which you listen to a native speaker and repeat what they say in real time-matching their rhythm, speed, and pronunciation. It was developed by researchers in the 1950s and is used by professional interpreters worldwide. It trains the connection between your ears and your mouth - the part of language learning that textbooks can’t reach.
